New York, New York: COPYTRACK Participation in DMLA 2017

Copytrack will once again be represented at the DMLA Conference from 22 to 24 October this year and will be participating in the panel “Post-Usage Licensing / Found Money”. The annual DMLA is one of the largest trade fairs for the image industry in the United States. For Copytrack, the participation in the 2017 edition of the DMLA is a further step towards building relationships with its customers in the global and, above all, the US market. Last year, Copytrack sucessfully presented itself for the first time at the event.

The DMLA Conference has been organised by the Digital Media Licensing Association for 22 years and offers not only an informative programme covering the current challenges for visual content in the global image market. In addition, the event brings together around 250 representatives and creates an environment for exchange and collaboration in the heart of New York. The Copytrack team will be about with a stand and is looking forward to meeting both old and new faces.

On the 23 October, at the iconic Wynham Hotel in Manhattan, Copytrack CEO Marcus Schmitt, together with other experts from the international image industry, talks on the panel “Post-Usage Licensing / Found Money” about the benefits and possibilities of prosecuting copyright infringements. Schmitt is certain that the expert panel will be of interest to photo agencies. The sole pursuit of copyright infringement is not only time consuming, but also involves costs and legal risks. Copytrack offers its clients an effective image search service of illegal usages of their images on the World Wide Web. In addition, the company takes care of post-licensing processes between the image rights holder and the image user. “The post-licensing model friendly highlights copyright infringements and is a major element of our success,” comments Marcus Schmitt. “Many customers appreciate our preference for a fair settlement between both parties and have already profited from this approach.” It is more likely that new and long-term business relationships are forged through a friendly settlement than through an instant lawsuit.
